Celebrating the Life of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Celebration of Martin Luther King’s birthday begins on January 15. After a couple of weeks of turmoil, it will be a time of coming together in remembrance of Dr, King’s work as well as a much-needed National Day of Service.  DWWC members are encouraged to select one or more of the opportunities to celebrate Dr. King’s life of service.

Take action with Presidential Inaugural Committee

The Biden-Harris Inaugural team shared service ideas for Monday, January 18, 2021 National Day of Service. The following options were selected from the list to align with DWWC initiatives and have local impact.

Option 1

Alliance Medical Ministry requests volunteers to help build hygiene kits for their patients. Most of their patients struggle financially and the medical kits give them any extra resources possible during their appointments.

This is a virtual event. Gather your friends and family and build flu kits, dental hygiene kits, and/or feminine hygiene kits together. It’s simple: simply select the type of kit you want to build, order the supplies, assemble the kits, and drop them off at the clinic! View examples

Join the Town of Cary Dreamfest Food Drive to benefit Dorcas Ministries. COVID-19 has increased the number of people in need of food. Dorcas Ministries is helping over 700 families a month right now, and they need nonperishable items for their pantry.
