OUR MISSION:

We work to get women to vote, support women who run for office, and work to get Democrats up and down the ticket elected (especially if they are women!).

In the spring of 1961 several women who were members of the North Carolina Democratic Party became interested in forming a statewide organization for Democratic Women. They started building the organization county by county, allowing each county to have one chapter.

The Democratic Women of Wake County (DWWC) evolved as an auxiliary group of the Wake County Democratic Party and the Democratic Women of North Carolina.
